My WordPress Site Audit provides a comprehensive overview of your WordPress site to determine what issues you may be having with your website, and most importantly, how to fix them.
Auditing a site highlights any problems, but also gives me a thorough understanding of your website so I can support it better than anyone else.

How it Works
The steps I undertake to complete my WordPress Site Audit
I can do almost everything without any input from you; you can let me get on with this, and I will come back to you if I have any questions or require more access.
Self Diagnosis
You might have identified performance issues related to your theme, plugins or your hosting provider – my audit identifies these issues. Often clients want an audit because they have an existing site that was built by another developer but the site now has problems. The report provides clarity on where your problems lie and how to fix them.
Consultation
I’ll start with an initial phone consultation to talk through what problems you’ve been having. I’ll ask you to create an Administrator account for me to login and use during the audit process.
Note, it is good for me to understand where you want to go with your site. Is there a feature you are looking to change in the future, or might you be getting a development agency to redesign parts of it? All of this helps me understand more about your website, and for me to better help your business.
My Diagnosis
The first thing I always do is ensure I have access, and that backups are setup. I cannot make any changes until I have a complete backup of the website.
I’ll also perform this audit if you want me to support and maintain your website so that there are no surprises for either of us when we look after your site.
Initial site errors
Here I am trying to establish if there are any urgent, obvious problems that we need to fix, which you may or may not be aware of.
Security
Website security is at the core of what I offer. My initial audit makes sure that your site is clean and set up properly, giving us a solid foundation to work from.
Site cleanup
My aim now is to remove anything unnecessary, or any historic plugins or files which are not used and might cause either complication or risk.
Site performance
Many of my customers come to me with requests to speed up their site. Now that I have audited your site and cleaned any unused plugins and files, I can work out the best way to optimise performance. For example, different methods work with different types of website; and some web hosts provide their own caching plugins which may or may not be beneficial.

The Report
The outcome of our audit is an an easy-to-understand document that gives clear recommendations to improve your website’s performance and security. This is hand-written specific to your website, prepared by me. If your website is working 100% as expected then I’ll tell you that too.
Follow Up
Once your report is complete, I’ll provide ideas on how best to tackle any issues. Typically this involves a fixed period of development work to correct any plugin or theme issues which will measurably improve your site’s performance.
